Jed founded RO Systems in Canton, Massachusetts in 1987, in the early stages of the water purification market in the Boston area. He quickly became known nationwide for his ability to develop unique niche markets in water treatment including centralized office drinking water, laboratories and food service. Seeking greater technical challenges, he relocated to California in 1991 at the request of the founders of Water Factory Systems, where he was Senior Project Manager and worked directly with clients to create solutions for a wide variety of water- related operational problems. Jed is currently President & CEO of Water Techniques where he oversees all company operations, directs and develops future markets for the companies continued growth. Jed’s valuable expertise in the technical aspects of water treatment, especially reverse osmosis technology as it relates to commercial and industrial applications give Water Techniques a distinct advantage in multiple marketplaces.
A 1980 graduate of Ohio State University in business and marketing, Mark has over twenty five years of sales, marketing and senior level management experience in the water treatment industry. He has successfully created and implemented effective management programs for the sales, marketing and development of water treatment products in multiple markets throughout the US and abroad. Mark has held management positions in several of the country’s leading water treatment companies Including: General Manager of Consumer Water Products, Ionics Incorporated, Watertown Mass., (Managed corporate retail offices and worldwide manufacturing - $32M in P&L responsibility), Co-founder and Director of Sales & Marketing, Water Factory Systems Irvine Ca, Vice President of Operations and General Manager, SWI Incorporated (General Electric Smart Water Program Development).
Joyce has been in the water treatment industry since 1996. Currently managing the Service and Installation Department, she has held several positions previously with Water by Design, Inc. including Accounting Manager and Manager of Operations. Joyce provides complete support to the technicians, installers, customer service team, production homebuilders, custom homebuilders as well as the on-site superintendents. Joyce is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Pacific Water Quality Association and carries the companies C-55 Water Treatment Contractor's license.
Jake Choung provides directions for the overall financial health and direction of the company. Prior to joining Water Techniques, Jake was the Controller at LifeMasters, Inc., where he oversaw and managed all aspects of the accounting and administrative functions and developed operational plans in support of company’s strategic plan and initiatives contributing to LifeMasters’s triple digit growth. He also served as the Director of Finance/Interim CFO for Foreshock, where his managed the company’s accounting and finance operations, including the establishment of relationships with major financial institutions, outside investors, auditors and taxing authorities. Jake’s experience also includes Financial Project Manager at Wellpoint, a Fortune 500 company, where he executed financial plans and developed strategic business plans for various operating units, Financial Analysts for Talbert Medical Management Group, and Accounting Manager at DialOne. Jake holds a BA in Economics and an MBA in Finance from the University of California, Irvine.
Upon graduating from USC in 1980, Richard returned to his home town and took over the family retail business, which sold stationery products, business machines, and office furniture. Within two years, He expanded the business to four locations, increased sales and improved overall profitability. In 1986, Richard left his family businesses and began entrepreneuring a travel industry project. In 1987, a public company purchased and eventually moved the project to Minneapolis, MN. In 1988, He returned to Los Angeles and worked for a variety of companies before starting his own consulting firm, Advanced Technology, which specialized in business operations, financial consulting, and computer consulting. In 2000, Richard designed and patented a new line of barbecue grills and started a new business, Backyard Barbeques. While at Backyard Barbeques, he set up manufacturing in China and established a mass market retail network throughout the US. Richard sold the business to an investment group in 2007. Richard joined Water Techniques in 2008 as the Operations Manager where he brings his years of experience in business operations and management to the company to improve the efficiency and overall operations of the company.
Prior to joining Water Techniques in 2001, Lily spent 4 years managing Lady Foot Locker locations. There Lily managed poor to medium performing stores into top 3% performers in sales and service. Learning the water industry from all aspects has made Lily a tremendous asset to the Water Techniques family. Lily is now primarily responsible for managing the Water Techniques inside and outside service staff. Her responsibilities also include service program implementation, service call scheduling and technician route design for our companies more than 10,000 customers, all to insure the very best in customer service and satisfaction.
Steve began managing custom home water treatment projects in 2002. With average home sizes of 12,000 square feet with challenging water requirements from intricate beach houses to expansive hillside mansions, his ability to organize and plan construction with Builders and Sub Contractors is well suited. Previously to working in the Water Industry, his career was in the electronics industry requiring worldwide travel accomplishing Project Engineering; conducting Trade Seminars, and doing extensive on-site training in addition to manufacturing process audits. His love for problem solving and creating solutions to seemingly impossible situations is an asset to the custom home market.
Ryan has been immersed in the world of plumbing and water treatment since childhood, working summers for his father’s plumbing business, Evans Plumbing. He worked his way out of digging trenches to managing 20 account managers at Enterprise Rent-A-Car. But his true passion brought him back to working with water. A graduate of the University of Hawaii in 1999, Ryan started his career at Water Techniques in 2005 and is currently project manager for the Orange County Residential Water Treatment Market. He thrives on helping his clients, developing relationships with builders and architects, and managing new business opportunities with the kitchen and bath market. His expertise in customizing water treatment systems for each individual project and educating his clients on the importance of water have helped him to become a leader in his field.
In 1989 Connor Lavis took a position as an installer at Water Factory System in Irvine, CA. After becoming a certified installer he became well versed in the application of water purification & water softening. At the request of the upper management he was transferred into the project management division under the supervision of Jed Roth. After four years of developing his skills he moved on to work with a company well known in the food service equipment marketplace where he became very knowledgeable of ware washing systems manufactured by Hobart. Currently Connor is bringing his experience to Water Techniques as a commercial project manager. Some of his duties include developing and managing the companies Commercial Water Treatment Projects throughout Southern California. Connor’s experience in the food service industry and background in water treatment gives Water Techniques a unique advantage to provide a complete package for our customers.
