Some important facts about tap water and bottle water
Crocks and bottle water dispenser require a 12 step cleaning process to be perform at least once a week using abrasive cleaning chemicals. The interior reservoir, faucet, drip tray and exterior surfaces have all been found to harbor disease, bacteria and viruses. The process takes approximately 45 min and is expected to be carried out by the consumer.

- It is estimated that more than a billion plastic bottles from water use only, are disposed of each year in the state, most of which end up in the states landfill sites.
- The Earth Policy Institute estimated that to make the plastic for the bottles burns up 1.5 million barrels of oil, enough to power 100,000 cars for a year. Nearly 90 percent of the bottles are not recycled.
- The FDA does allow trace levels of contaminants in bottled water based on the same criteria set by the Environmental Protection Agency for tap water. But on the FDA's web site, the agency also says, "Bottled water plants generally are assigned a low priority for inspection."
- Numerous scientist around the country have determined that exposure to BPA (Bisphenol-A) in the womb raises the risk of certain cancers, hampers fertility and could contribute to childhood behavioral problems such as hyperactivity.
- BPA leaches out of plastic bottles and is accelerated in high temperatures and direct sunlight resulting in numerous class action lawsuits against bottle manufactures.
- Trace amounts of pharmaceuticals, disinfectants, herbicides, pesticides and industrial chemicals have been found in US tap water all over the country.
